Hero Lice Clinics have proper lighting, equipment, sterilization, and availability to eradicate lice.
In-home treatment services attempt to remove lice from within an active lice environment. Professional lighting, equipment, sterilization, and technique are key contributing factors for successful lice removal. As lice can survive off the head for up to 48 hours, it’s important to remove oneself from the environment in which the lice most likely originated.
Our lice clinics provide additional treatment availability. This additional availability allows family members to be treated side-by-side. Most in-home removal services will only send a single technician to treat and diagnose an entire family. Unfortunately, an entire family with lice using a mobile treatment service will easily turn into an all day affair.
Hero Lice Clinics remove all lice and eggs in a single treatment.
Our lice removal centers remove all lice and eggs in a single 60-90 minute treatment. Our strict adherence to our proprietary lice removal process requires at least this length of time, regardless of hair type. Be leery of providers that claim they can treat an entire family of four in 2-3 hours. ALL lice and eggs must be removed, or an infestation will most definitely re-occur within 7-10 days.
Most In-home lice remedy providers will require their clients to perform strict after-care treatment procedures. Failure to follow these additional procedures void any treatment guarantees. What do these after-care treatment procedures entail? Additional combing. Lots of it. In fact, the Nation’s largest in-home provider requires clients continue to comb for an additional 14-21 days. In addition, they also require a nightly application of olive oil.
Hero Lice Clinics can be significantly cheaper than in-home treatment.
Almost all in-home treatment services have travel fees that are not included in the cost of treatment. The accrual of these travel fees begin the moment a technician is dispatched to the client’s home. Payment of these fees are required regardless of whether lice is found or not. A typical travel fee ranges between $75 and $100, and is dependent upon a number of uncontrollable factors like location.
In-home treatment services charge an hourly rate. Naturally, the longer a treatment takes the higher the fee. Dependant upon the skills of the technician and the techniques being used, a lice treatment will range between $175-$400 per person (not including travel fees.) If a treatment fails and a technician is re-dispatched, additional travel and treatment fees will apply.
Hero Lice Clinics uses licensed employees, not independent contractors.
Hero Lice Clinics are established places of business that are embedded within family based communities. Schools, child care centers, summer camps, and many others rely upon our professional services and expertise. Our technicians live within the communities they serve and are invested in the health of the community in which they are located.
In-home treatment providers use independent contractors. Most technicians are “on-call” and decide if and when to work. Making an appointment with an in-home provider can take up to 30 minutes or more to complete- as they’ll need to verify a contractor’s availability. Interestingly enough, the Nation’s largest in-home provider has established a practice of hiring technicians “on-the-spot” and without an interview and without a background check.
Hero Lice Clinics are regulated.
It’s important to understand that in-home services are popping up across the United States on a daily basis. People with little to no experience are now claiming to be lice ‘experts’. It is important to consider the access you are providing someone to your home and to your children. City and state agencies require Hero Lice Clinics to be insured, pay taxes, and be held to a high standard within the communities we serve.
In-home services can easily bounce around from city to city and with little to no oversight. In fact, company name and location changes are common practice as licensing and insurance is not required for in-home treatment services.
